Here is a list of questions that we are frequently asked. Click on the question to reveal the answer.
Yes, we offer a free diagnosis for all types of data storage device. And this is regardless if you send us 1 device or 20, there are no restrictions. We never charge anything up front, we only get paid if we have a successful recovery - so we have to be good.
We can do that. The best way is to call us first and explain your situation, from there we can give you a very precise estimation as to what the final price would be. Click HERE to see our Price Guide.
Carefully pack your disk, (in an anti-static bag), and place it in a strong box with 3 or 4 cm of bubble-wrap or shipping foam. (It is important that the disk does not move around in the box during shipping).
Disks and all other digital storage media are designed to be shipped, so these devices are strong and there is no problem sending a damaged disk through the post as long as it is packed correctly.
Please download our Repair Form, fill in your contact information and place that in the box with your damaged disk/s.
Ship everything to us. Our pre-printed shipping label is HERE for you to stick on the box. (If you sent the disk using the regular mail service here in Sweden, (PostNord.se), then we advise you to obtain a tracking reference number, which you can email to us so we know it is on its way. You can of course use a Courier like DHL or UPS.
Yes, We do all the recovery work ourselves, we do not use the services of other organizations or outsource any work to any other companies. This allows us to provide the customer with great value, low cost recovery prices. We always provide a typical upper and lower price range to the customer for each job, so every customer knows upfront what the best and worst cases will cost.
Our turnaround time for standard service is 24 – 48 hours from receipt of storage media. We also offer round the clock 24hr service if the files are needed faster. We can always upload recovered data instantly, saving the return shipping time and we will always keep you up to date on the progress of your recovery case.
We always try to get 100% of the data recovered, (or as close to 100% as possible). If the disk is in very bad shape, (making bad noises or switching itself off), then we may ask the customer to specify what their most important files and folders are called and we then target those first. Then, after we have recovered the important stuff, if the disk is still reading, we will go after the rest.
It is your choice, we will put the data on to any type of storage media that you prefer. Usually we use an External USB disk that you just connect to a working computer. The data is usually formatted in the same way as on your failed disk. For example, if you were using Windows and your disk failed, we normally will format the disk with the recovered files for another Windows system. But we can setup the new disk for a different system if you prefer. Another example, would be if you disk failed with Windows data, but you are now using a Mac, we can setup the new disk and data to work on a Mac system. No problem.
Our knowledge base and experience is vast, it is one of our greatest strengths. Over the years, we have seen almost everything, which means we have procedures in place to recover almost everything.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to recover enough of your critical files, you can choose not to proceed with the recovery. We will just return your failed disk to you, in the SAME condition as we received it. You are then welcome to get a second opinion with another data recovery company, and they will also have the same starting point that we had.
